Frequently asked questions
for weddings

How many photos do we receive?
I don't like to promise a number on how many photos you receive. Every couple and every wedding is different so it depends on your day. On average, I send 300-700 photos depending on how many hours I am there. I don't send every photo I take, here are some of the reasons why...I eliminate duplicate images, test shots, missed focused shots, shots with bad expressions and other images that may dilute the overall product delivery. For example, because I shoot with low apertures (blurry background), sometimes I take a few extra shots to make sure we have the perfect focus. Another reason, candid laughs and emotional tears are some of the best images from the day. Unfortunately, they can also show some unflattering facial expressions. I snap a few extras of any of these moments to make sure I have a great shot with the ideal expression for the moment.

Do you send raw photos (unedited)?
Absolutely not. Every photo will be edited to be consistent with my style of mood and colors.

What do you require as a retainer (deposit)?
For weddings and elopements, i require a 30% retainer to lock in your date. The remainder will be due two weeks prior to your wedding so you don't have to worry about anything once your special day comes closer!

Do you provide a videographer?
Since I am the sole owner of Sophia Jones Photos, I am the only one who works for Sophia Jones Photos, so the answer is no I do not. I'm a photographer and I choose to specialize in photography to give you the best of my art form. I can give you some recommendations if you're in search of one.

How do I reserve you for my date?
Your date will be locked once you sign the contract and pay the retainer.

Does your wedding packages include a second shooter?
Unfortunately, not. Since I outsource another photographer to second shoot for me, they will have to be paid hourly. That hourly cost will be added onto the base price.

Do I need a second shooter?
Second shooters are great for getting ready photos and the ceremony especially. Although I can do both by myself, it's great to have another photographer capture one of the two partners so I don't have to go back and forth to each. During the ceremony, the second shooter will be able to get different angles then me and detailed shots. This option is totally up to you and how important different angles are for the both of you.

What rights do we have over the photos?
You have all rights to download, print, and use your photos for personal purposes. Photos come to life when printed!

Do you offer prints and/or albums?
The website I use to deliver your wedding gallery gives you the option to order any size print, canvas, greeting cards, calendars, and different styles of albums. You get to design it how you want and it prints using the highest quality printers!

What if I want to get my photos printed at Walgreens or Costco?
You may do as you please, but know that once you start printing in a larger size, those printers cannot handle the quality of your photos and will mess with the colors.
